Ridgeway Baptist Church |
MinistryPulpit MinistryThe Pastor's sermons are listed each week in the church bulletin. His sermons are almost always from a series and expository in content. You will find the text and a brief outline on this site. All sermons are available on cassette tape and VHS. Please call the church office to request copies. Sunday School - A Gallery of ClassesSunday School offers a time of study and reflection on God's Word in a small group setting. This provides a chance for interaction with people who share similar interests or age groups. There is a class for everyone from nursery to senior adults. Please join us at 9:45 am each Sunday morning. Discipleship TrainingDiscipleship Training is offered three semesters throughout the year. In the fall, winter and spring, the pastor leads an in-depth study on a variety of topics. MusicAdult Choir
The adult choir at Ridgeway celebrates the seasons of the year with our annual Christmas and Easter musicals. These presentations are designed to point the listener to the true meaning of these special religious holidays. Other special times, such as Thanksgiving, allow the adult choir to join together with other choirs in the Enka-Candler area. Children's Choir The Children's Choir at Ridgeway is open to all first through sixth grade children. This group meets each Wednesday at 7:45 pm. In addition to learning many songs, old and new, the children's choir also worships through movement and other kid-friendly activities. The children sing at various times of the year, including Christmas, Easter, and our bi-annual talent nights. If you have children who would like to be a part of this high-energy experience, feel free to bring them each Wednesday night. If you have any questions, please contact the church office. Little Folks Choir
DramaThe Musical/Dramas, directed by Music Minister Scott Sprinkle and Drama Director Diane Parker, are performed at Christmas and Easter. Each production offers a magnificent portrayal of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus, reminding us of the sacrifice that was given so that we might have eternal salvation. The goal in each drama presentation is to save a soul for Jesus. The Lord has given each of us a talent. Volunteers are always needed to act, sing, build props, and sew costumes. Perhaps you will find a place in this exciting program to help lead someone to the gift of eternal life. Outreach MinistryYoke Fellow Discipleship Outreach is a ministry of both discipleship and witnessing. Training is held periodically for those who feel called to share in this ministry. Training times are designated in the church newsletter and weekly church bulletin. Training is available in areas of evangelism, shut-in ministry, hospital and nursing home ministry and community visitation. Ministry teams are paired by compatibility and other factors determined by the outreach director. Assignments are given on Sunday, and each ministry team has the following week to complete their assignment, reporting responses and the need for follow up. The term yoke fellow partner is used to stress the personal accountability of each team. If you are interested in being involved – click on Response – state your name and leave an e-mail address or phone number where you can be reached. Intercessory Prayer MinistryEach Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., a group meets in the church library for intercessory prayer. We also meet each Sunday at 8:45 a.m. in Room 315. Prayer requests are gathered from our church family and community. Names are usually left on the prayer list for an extended period of time. If you have a prayer need, please click on Prayer Requests, leave a name and a brief statement specifying the prayer need. You may also join any of the prayer groups at the times mentioned above. Each session usually lasts from 30 minutes to an hour. Read the Bible ThruOffered each week in the Bulletin is a feature that is designated to help you read through the entire Bible in one year. Suggested passages are listed for each day with a variety of selections from both the Old and New Testaments. Senior AdultsComing soon YouthComing soon Children's ChurchComing soon |
