Clara Singleton, Interim Minister of Music

Barbara Surrett, Church Secretary
There are never two days exactly alike in the life of a church secretary. One day the phone never stops ringing. The next day might be so quiet you pray to hear the sound of another human voice. Barbara Surrett is always there to give a word of encouragement, offer a shoulder to cry on, provide information, publish bulletins and newsletters, and provide support services for Pastor Jackie and Scott.
Married to the late Joyce Surrett, Barbara is the mother of three daughters. She has served as church secretary for many years.

Debbie Stroupe, Custodian

Debbie has lived in Candler since 1980 and has twin daughters who live in Charlotte. She became a member of Ridgeway when she moved here and her girls were baptized here. Her husband and his family were members all of their lives. Debbie worked at Candler Elementary School for 29 years and after retirement became the church custodian.

Susan Bumgarner, Pianist
Susan Warren Bumgarner grew up attending Ridgeway Baptist Church. She learned to play the piano at a young age and has served as church pianist for more than 25 years. Susan has been employed by Progress Energy for over 20 years. She has two sons, Nathan and Justin, and one grandson.

Beverly Goodson, Utility Person

Beverly Goodson was baptized in Enka Lake in 1976 and joined Ridgeway Church in 1982. She is married to Edwin Goodson and together had 6 children, 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Beverly has served in many capacities at Ridgeway through the years such as a youth teacher, operates the sound system, and is well known as the church historian. She’s served on many committees such as the Constitution and By-Laws, Wedding, Homecoming and is now on the staff as the Utility Person. Part of her job is to lock and unlock the church, so if you you ever need help getting in or out, just call her.
